Dinners and the shopping list

Plan the week's dinners, put their ingredients on the list, copy last week, tick things off in the shop, and send the list to your supermarket app. Or just ask Bobbie what's for tea.

Dinners

  • Press a day and type what is for dinner, or tell Bobbie: "fish pie on Thursday".
  • Open a dinner to add the ingredients it needs. Press Add to list to put them on the shopping list, or Add all for the whole week.
  • Copy to next week copies this week's dinners and ingredients onto the same days next week, leaving anything already planned alone.

The shopping list

  • Add something to the list at the top, or tell Bobbie: "add milk and bin bags".
  • Things sit under their aisle so the shop goes in order. Move one with Set aisle.
  • Tick things as they go in the basket. Clear ticked when you are home.
  • Regulars are the things you always need: save one from the list and add it back with one press.
  • Send to shopping app copies the list as text to paste into Tesco, Ocado, Sainsbury's or whichever you use.

What is really happening

Dinners and the list are the household's, not one person's: whoever is in the shop sees what whoever planned the week added. Bobbie can read and change both when you ask it, and it tells a child what is for dinner if a parent has allowed replies, but never changes the plan for a child.

Questions people ask

Can Bobbie plan the dinners for me?
Ask it: 'plan dinners for next week, nothing with fish, one veggie night'. It fills the week and you change what you like. It uses what you have cooked before as a starting point.
Can the children see what's for dinner?
If a parent has switched on replies for a child on WhatsApp, the child can ask what's for tea and Bobbie tells them. They cannot change it.
Which shopping apps does Send to work with?
It copies the list as text, ready to paste into any supermarket app's list or search. There is no direct connection into a supermarket's system, because none of them offer one.
