Forwarding school email from iCloud Mail
A rule at icloud.com sends the school's emails to Bobbie too. It runs in iCloud itself, so it works even when your iPhone is off. Five minutes in a browser.

The short version. icloud.com, Mail, the cog, Settings, Rules, Add a rule: from the school's domain, forward to your Bobbie address. Done.
Make the rule
- In a browser, go to icloud.com and open Mail.
- Press the cog at the bottom of the left-hand column and choose Settings.
- Open Rules and press Add a rule.
- For the first box choose is from, and type the school's email domain, the part after the @, for example
oakfield.sch.uk. - For the action choose Forward to, and paste your Bobbie address.
- Press Done.
That is it. Rules made here run in iCloud, on Apple's servers, so the school's emails reach Bobbie whether your phone is on or not.
If the school writes from a system
ParentPay, Arbor and ClassDojo write from their own domains. Add a second rule for each, or give that system your Bobbie address directly. See giving the school your address.
What is really happening
The rule copies matching mail to Bobbie as it arrives; your originals stay in iCloud. Bobbie never has your Apple ID or password. You can delete the rule from the same place at any time.
Questions people ask
- Can I do this in the Mail app on my iPhone?
- Rules in the Mail app run only while that device is on and awake. The rule at icloud.com runs on Apple's servers whatever your phone is doing, so it is the one to use.
- What about an @me.com or @mac.com address?
- They are iCloud Mail too, and the steps are the same.
