Giving the school your Bobbie address

Where the email box is in ParentPay, Arbor, ClassDojo, Tapestry, MCAS, School Gateway and Weduc, and what to say to the school office. Once it is in, the letters come to Bobbie on their own.

The short version. Copy your Bobbie address from Settings, Integrations. Put it into each school system as a second email where allowed, and ask the office to add it as a contact. The letters then arrive without you doing anything.

The school office

Email or call the office and say: "Please add [email protected] as a second email contact for Maya Patel in Year 3." Most schools' systems allow two or more contacts per parent. If they can hold only one, keep your own address there and use a forwarding rule instead.

Where the box is, system by system

System Where to put the address What then arrives
ParentPay Sign in on the website, your name at the top right, Profile settings, Email addresses, add a second email Payment requests, trip letters attached to items, receipts, dinner money balances
Arbor The school controls guardian emails; ask the office to add the address as a second contact Absence, clubs, consent, parents' evening bookings, newsletters
ClassDojo The app or website, your profile, Account settings, change the email, or ask the teacher to add a second parent account using the Bobbie address Class stories, messages from the teacher, event notices
Tapestry Ask the nursery or school to add the address as a second relative; parents cannot add it themselves Observations, notices, events
MCAS (MyChildAtSchool) The school holds the contact details; ask the office Announcements, attendance, payments, clubs
School Gateway Ask the office; the address must match what the school holds Messages, payments, consent
Weduc Ask the office to add it to your account's contacts Newsletters, messages, forms
Seesaw Invite the Bobbie address as a second family member from the child's profile Journal posts, announcements

After it is in

Send yourself a test: forward any old school email to the address, then look at Settings, Integrations. Within a few seconds the Email in card says what became of it. From then on, each letter shows up as things in your Inbox.

What is really happening

Each system emails your Bobbie address exactly as it emails you. Nothing connects into ParentPay or Arbor, and no login is shared. Bobbie reads the email and its attachments, keeps what it found, and deletes the raw message after thirty days.

Questions people ask

Will the school office mind?
No more than any change of email. Most offices update a contact in a minute. If they can only hold one address, forwarding from your own mailbox keeps both working.
Do I lose the emails from my own inbox?
Only if the school replaces your address rather than adding one. Ask for it to be added as a second contact where the system allows, or use a forwarding rule instead so you keep both.
Which is better: the address, or forwarding?
The address is simpler and never misses anything. Forwarding keeps your own inbox as the master copy. Plenty of families do both: the address in ParentPay, a forwarding rule for the office.
